Juve thought they had done the hardest by opening the scoring by Juan Cuadrado, receiving a center from Adrien Rabiot, seven minutes from the end of regulation time (83rd) of this match so far pleasant and balanced.

But Inter snatched the equaliser in added time on a penalty following an unintentional hand from Bianconero defender Gleison Bremer. Lukaku was not asked to equalize (90+5th).

The Belgian striker, however, was immediately warned by the referee, after celebrating his goal in front of the Turin fans' stand, with his finger over his mouth. A second yellow card synonymous with exclusion for "Big Rom", already warned a little earlier for an excess of commitment (80th) and furious out of the field.

Cuadrado and Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic were also sent off after the final whistle after another scuffle.

Until this incandescent final, each team had the opportunities to tip the match, replay of the final of the 2022 edition won by Inter (4-2 a.p.).

The most beautiful were for Angel Di Maria (4th) and for Dusan Vlahovic on two heads (38th, 47th) on the Turin side, for Marcelo Brozovic (33rd) and Henrikh Mkitaryan (64th) on the nerazzurro side.

"The result seems pretty fair to me, they had chances, so did we. It's a shame because, twenty seconds from the end, it was an avoidable situation," said Bianconero coach Massimiliano Allegri, referring to the penalty conceded by his team.

Everything will be decided on the return, on April 26 in San Siro, between the two favorites. The other semi-final, whose first leg takes place on Wednesday, opposes two outsiders, Cremonese, red lantern of Serie A, and Fiorentina.
