Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia reclassified the criminal case of the explosion in St. Petersburg from murder in a generally dangerous way to a terrorist attack. This was reported by the press service of the department.

"Based on the results of the initial investigative actions obtained, the criminal case of the explosion in the cafe of St. Petersburg was reclassified to Part 3 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist Act")," the report said.

The NAC said that it described the explosion in St. Petersburg as a terrorist attack, stressing that it was planned by the special services of Ukraine with the involvement of agents from among the persons cooperating with the FBK *.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov also admitted that the Kiev regime may be involved in the crime committed: "This is the regime that has been behind the murders of people for many years since 2014, which is why a special military operation is being carried out."

On the evening of April 2, an explosion occurred in a cafe on the University Embankment, where the creative evening of the war correspondent Maxim Fomin, better known as Vladlen Tatarsky, was held. According to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, as a result of the incident, a military officer was killed, another 33 people were injured of varying severity.

"Currently, 22 people remain on inpatient treatment in hospitals in St. Petersburg, the condition of eight of them is assessed as severe, 14 - in a state of moderate and mild severity," RIA Novosti quotes the text of the message.

Today, the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov visited the victims at the Mariinsky Hospital and wished everyone a speedy recovery.

"Among them there are non-residents. The guys asked to tell their loved ones that everything was fine with them. We will do it without fail," Beglov assured.

He also noted that the city hospitals, medical services in the course of the incident "worked clearly and quickly," and expressed special gratitude to the doctors who demonstrated "the highest professionalism."

"The city, for its part, will provide financial assistance to the victims. The family of the deceased - 1 million rubles. The victims will receive compensation in the amount of 500 thousand or 250 thousand rubles - depending on the severity of their condition, "the head of the city added.

Along with this, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation recalled that Daria Trepova was detained on suspicion of committing a crime.

"The investigation has evidence that the planning and organization of the crime committed was carried out from the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, Daria Trepova, who adheres to opposition views, is a supporter of the Anti-Corruption Foundation," the report said.
