Beijing, April 4 (ZXS) -- China's great power diplomacy is frequently paced, and recently in conjunction with attending the 2 annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez and other leaders of the three countries visited China intensively, adding heat to the spring wave of visits to China. Scholars believe that from the timing and itinerary of the visit to the consensus reached on many achievements during the visit, the series of visits shows a new situation of Sino-foreign cooperation in multiple dimensions.

Among the leaders of the three countries, Lee Hsien Loong was the first to visit. The visit was his second visit to China in four years, accompanied by Lee Hsien Loong's wife, Ho Ching, Foreign Minister Vivian and Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, and other heavyweight officials, known as the "highest-level entourage".

Lee Hsien Loong is one of the most visited foreign leaders to China. The outside world noticed that in addition to Beijing, Lee Hsien Loong also visited Guangzhou, Boao and other places during the six-day trip, and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 6. Hu Yishan, a senior research scholar at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, believes that these arrangements will help Singapore to have a comprehensive understanding of China in a three-dimensional and comprehensive manner, and will further consolidate the good relationship established between the two sides over a long period of time.

Unlike Lee Hsien Loong, Sanchez and Anwar are both visiting China for the first time since taking office, and their visit coincides with an important juncture in China-West and China-Malaysia relations.

As far as China and Spain are concerned, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain, and the two sides hope to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a new starting point to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Yang Ming, associate professor of the Department of Western Languages at Shanghai Overseas Chinese University, believes that "trade" and "security" are the main keywords of Sanchez's visit to China. Julio Rios, a Spanish expert on China, believes that the cooperation between China and Spain adheres to the spirit of pragmatism, and in the context of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries for half a century, "this visit is far more than a formal significance."

This year is also the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia, and next year the two countries will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Shortly after being elected Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar said that "improving bilateral relations with China is a priority," and this time he said, "I am a true friend of China and a sincere and friendly visit to China." ”

Observers also noted that Anwar was accompanied by a number of ethnic Chinese, demonstrating Malaysia's sincerity in deepening cooperation with China in various fields. During the visit, Anwar said that he is willing to promote cooperation with China in the fields of automobiles, energy, cultural tourism, agriculture, and digital economy, promote personnel exchanges between the two sides, and learn from China's successful experience in poverty reduction. He also made it clear that he welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and cooperate in Malaysia.

The series of visits has attracted attention from the outside world, and also because through intensive interaction, China and the three countries have reached many cooperation results.

This year coincides with the 10th anniversary of China's proposal to build a community with a shared future for mankind and jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative. During the visit, Chinese and Malaysian leaders reached important consensus on jointly building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future. Anwar made it clear that Malaysia supports the global development initiative, global security initiative and global civilization initiative proposed by China, and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in jointly building the "Belt and Road". Some commentators believe that China-Malaysia relations will open a new historical chapter, and the cooperation in jointly building the "Belt and Road" will also be deepened.

China-Singapore relations, which can be called "setting a benchmark for countries in the region", have been upgraded through this visit, and the two sides agreed to upgrade China-Singapore relations to an all-round and high-quality forward-looking partnership. Hu Yishan believes that high-quality development is not simply the pursuit of economic aggregates, but also allows people to live a good and happy life, China's high-quality development model is worth learning from Southeast Asian countries, and the relationship between China and ASEAN countries can also become a model for common development of all countries in the world.

Of course, the impact of an intensive visit to China by two leaders of ASEAN countries and one of EU member states goes far beyond the bilateral level.

The visit makes Sanchez the first European leader to visit Beijing since China has a new leadership, and Spain will take over the EU presidency in the second half of this year. Yang Ming believes that Sanchez's first visit to China has demonstrated the aspiration and vision of China and the EU to work together to safeguard multilateralism.

Wang Yiwei, a professor at the School of International Relations of Chinese Minmin University, believes that Sanchez's visit to China itself reflects the confidence and expectations of the European community in China. The scholar noted that during the visit, China and Spain exchanged views on the Ukrainian crisis, and Spain appreciated China's constructive role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis. "In the face of the current divided international situation, Spain needs to prepare plans for the advancement of various international affairs in the second half of the year, and China's role in solving international problems and promoting global development is receiving more and more attention." He said.

The leaders of the three countries paid official visits to China in conjunction with attending the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023. In Boao, they actively spoke out on promoting regional and global cooperation. For example, Lee Hsien Loong said he was "pleased to see China's continued support for multilateralism and regional cooperation" and called on Asian countries to "promote cooperation and make each other interdependent." Sanchez called on Europe and Asia to work together to address global challenges and promote world economic development. Anwar said that "although competition is beneficial, cooperation is more important" and stressed that the momentum of BRI cooperation should be further consolidated.

Some commentators believe that at present, China is striving to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind and inject more certainty into an uncertain world. The intensive visits of the leaders of the three countries to China not only show the new situation of Sino-foreign cooperation in multiple dimensions, but also the interaction between China and the three countries is expected to inject new positive forces into international and regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.
