Transport – as the only one of 14 LO unions – has previously opted out of the wage negotiations that ended on Friday. Transport is nobbing the new wage mark and will continue negotiations on its own next week.

Want 5.5 percent

The industrial deal means a 7.4 percent pay rise over two years on Friday — 4.1 percent in the first year and 3.3 percent in year two. Transport instead wants to see a 5.5 percent increase this year.

"Year one of this agreement with 4.1 percent may be decent, but year two is far too low. The whole thing is not good enough for us," he told The Echo.
