On 8 April, it is time for what is usually regarded as the National Day of the Roma. But already now there is an opportunity to learn more about what it is like to be Roma in Gävleborg.

On Saturday, the exhibition "Beyond the stereotypes" opens at the Swedish Prison Museum in Gävle. In the exhibition, which is organized by Gävleborg's Roma International Association and the Discrimination Bureau, the visitor gets to know some Roma from the county, among other things.

"I'm absolutely proud that I'm Roma," says Elin Bengtsson Denaj.

Live broadcast on SVT Play

At 16.00 on Saturday afternoon, Elin, Bergita and Anabella will also invite comedian Charlotta Björck and idol participant Ida Hallquist in an interactive live broadcast on SVT Play.

"Of course I'm nervous, but it's going to be a lot of fun," says Elin Bengtsson Denaj.

In the clip, we meet Elin, Bergita and Anabella before the exhibition and broadcast on SVT Play. And then you will learn some words that Swedish has borrowed from Romani.
