About 2200 sports youth from 107 associations on the west coast of Sweden clean the coasts from debris over the weekend, in a total of 22 municipalities – from Strömstad down to Höganäs.

It is the Sports Environmental Organization Städa Sverige that is behind the project, which is underway for the fourteenth time. The aim is to keep plastic and litter away from the ocean together, but also to engage young people.

Local sports clubs that clean beaches receive a compensation to the association fund. Engeholmsgymnasterna wants to use their contribution to a training trip to Italy.

"Very small plastic"

The squad was out all morning, filling several large bags with trash.

"It's a lot of small plastic," Wichers says.

But the group also found a large pipe, a doormat and something that at least looked like a rock ring.

In the clip, the gymnasts show what they found on the beach between Ängelholm and Magnarp.
