The agency notes that Trump's lawyers want to petition for the transfer of the criminal case from the court in Manhattan to the "more conservative district of New York Staten Island."

This is done out of concern that the ex-president "will not be able to achieve a fair trial" in Manhattan, the report said.

Earlier, CNN, citing sources, reported that a grand jury in New York voted to indict Trump.

Later it became known that the Manhattan Prosecutor's Office contacted Trump's team of lawyers regarding the appearance of the politician in order to bring charges against him.

Trump, in turn, said that the charges against him are political persecution and interference in the presidential election.
