One last little run and let's go! The Paris Marathon is held this Sunday. The 46th edition of the race will kick off on the Champs-Elysées, for a finish at the Arc de Triomphe. A tour in Paris, through some of the most famous monuments of the capital.

The Arc de Triomphe is honored. This Sunday is the 46th edition of the Paris Marathon, mythical race in the capital. A course of 42.195 kilometers, as has been the tradition since its creation at the Athens Olympic Games of 1896. In total, 45,000 people are expected on the starting line. "The fact of having the Avenue des Champs-Elysées just for me, and 45,000 other people, inevitably, it will do something," says a runner at the microphone of Europe 1. And then, the course is magnificent."

The Grand Palais, Place Vendôme, the Musée d'Orsay or the Eiffel Tower: runners will pass in front of all the emblematic places of the capital. A visit at the running pace that will take them to the Bois de Boulogne. But the novelty is that the participants will leave the woods very quickly to find the opulent buildings of the 16th arrondissement ... and especially the public. Posted on the roadside, their presence gives a boost to the runners, who see the number of kilometers remaining dwindling over the cobblestones.

A triumphant arrival

Very good news, according to Adrien. "If I remember correctly, I suffered a lot in the Bois de Boulogne because we pass on cobblestones. It's a disaster, it's heartbreaking. The streets of Paris are always good because there are small concerts, there are always people. And it boosts well in the end." A crowd bath until the finish that has not moved since the last edition: the line is drawn on Avenue Foch, at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe.
