• Torremolinos A minor jumps from the balcony of a second floor to flee from her ex-partner who chased her with an ax
  • Malaga The youngest of Torremolinos who jumped from the balcony suffered another aggression from her ex-boyfriend

The alleged aggressor and ex-boyfriend of the 17-year-old girl from Torremolinos (Malaga), who last Monday rushed from his home to flee – without knowing it at that time – from his partner, will enter prison in a psychiatric module where he can be assessed and can receive the corresponding treatment, sources close to the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) confirmed on Friday. There is talk that the detainee could have suffered some type of obsessive depressive disorder or a psychotic break, although it will be the doctors who from now on must determine his condition.

The Court of Instruction number 3 of Torremolinos, competent in matters of gender violence, has agreed this Friday afternoon the entry into provisional detention, communicated and without bail of the detainee for attacking with an ax his former partner, a young minor with whom he had maintained a sentimental relationship and of which he had a restraining order in force issued by this same court in relation to a Incident occurred previously. The admission to prison was requested by both the prosecution and the private prosecution and the judge, although it was agreed to transfer the detainee to a psychiatric module.

He is being investigated for the alleged commission of the crimes of attempted murder, burglary and breach of sentence. After being brought before the magistrate and the other parties, the detainee invoked his right not to testify.

Those who did have been the victim of the aggression and three witnesses who witnessed part of the facts, specifically, from the moment in which the young woman was able to jump from her home – located on the second floor of a residential building in the north of Torremolinos, in the neighborhood of El Pinillo – and who saw how the alleged aggressor – bloodied – left the building.

The alleged attacker, a 21-year-old man with whom the young woman had dated until just a few months ago, hid his face behind a mask during the aggression which prevented the victim from recognizing him at that time. The girl has explained in her statement that at no time could she raise her head to see her attacker and has insisted that she thought it was a thief. In fact, he could only recognize his ex-partner when he was later shown the recordings of the security cameras of the urbanization in which the young man is seen, already without the mask, when he tried to flee the place.

Although it had been speculated that the alleged aggressor could have made a copy of the keys to the victim's home, it has been confirmed – as EL MUNDO had already advanced days ago – that the ex-boyfriend of the young woman sneaked into the girl's family home climbing – apparently, barefoot – to a window and from there he would have managed to access the interior of the house. Once inside he waited for the arrival of his ex-girlfriend and surprisingly attacked her with an ax, causing serious injuries, including blows and cuts to the skull, as well as some tendons of the hand.

Jumping into the street was "the only possible way out" for the victim, sources close to the case have stressed. Fortunately, the bass canopy was extended and would have cushioned the blow, thus avoiding an outcome with a worse prognosis.
