The spokesman for the political process in Sudan, Khaled Omar Youssef, said that the signing of the final agreement between the parties will be on time on Saturday, and that the civilian and military parties continue their discussions to complete some details of the agreement, amid American blessing.

This came in a statement issued by the spokesman of the political process in Sudan after news of the postponement of the signing of the final agreement due to differences between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.

The RSF has affirmed its full commitment to having a single professional national army in the country, and to all that is contained in the framework political agreement.

The Rapid Support Forces said in a statement that they are committed to continuing to work positively in the joint technical committees on the security and military reform process in Sudan, adding that their relationship with the Sudanese Armed Forces is inseparable, and no party will be able to disturb them, according to the statement.

The Rapid Support is a fighting force led by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemedti), deputy chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, formed to fight rebels in Darfur in western Sudan and later to protect the borders and maintain order, and was established in 2013 as a force affiliated with the Security and Intelligence Service, and there are no official estimates of its number, but it is certain that it exceeds tens of thousands.

On March 19, Youssef announced that the final agreement between the Sudanese parties will be signed in early April, while the formation of the new government will begin on the 11th of the same month.

For his part, the official spokesman for freedom and change, the Central Council, Yasser Arman, confirmed on his Twitter page that the signing of the final agreement to resolve the political crisis in the country will take place on schedule next Saturday.

He added that it was not agreed to postpone the signing, and that there are specific issues being resolved, and that the forces of the framework agreement will meet to take a decision, stressing that the effort made during the last two days between the armed forces and the rapid support and civil forces serves the people, and that whatever he called the sabotage of the remnants will not equal the ability of the people and the revolution, he said.

On the other hand, the Sudanese army announced on Thursday its commitment to the political process in the country, and the aspiration to complete the integration processes within it, and the Rapid Support Forces announced, in a statement, its commitment to the political process and access to a single professional army.

Last Wednesday, the security and military reform conference concluded the last conference of the final phase of the political agreement in Khartoum, and Sudanese army leaders were absent, according to local media.

In the context, the head of the Supreme Council for Beja Optics and Independent Columns in Eastern Sudan, Nazer Mohamed Al-Amin Turk, said that the Council announced the closure of the east tomorrow, Saturday, coinciding with the signing of the final agreement between the military component of the authority and civilian forces.

During the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Democratic Alliance for Social Justice and the Federal Assembly of Sudan's Regions, Turk said that this alliance will bring what he described as a new uprising.

U.S. Support

Meanwhile, the head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, received a phone call from US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly V.

Al-Burhan briefed Mouli V on the progress of the political process and the ongoing efforts to achieve consensus between the political components in the country to reach a civilian government that completes the remainder of the transitional period.

During the phone call, Molly stressed the United States' support for the political process and everything that would achieve peace and stability in Sudan.
