The County Administrative Board of Jönköping County does not yet know who the letter was sent to or what was in it. The case is now being investigated by the police as a serious unlawful threat. In Västmanland, the letter has been identified as a particular threat to the county administrative board's animal welfare unit. In Jönköping, the head of the veterinary and animal welfare unit confirms a general increased threat to animal welfare inspectors.
– We have security routines that we always follow regardless of whether there is an increased threat or not and those routines are sufficient, says Johanna Hedén.
Will you take additional security measures after this week's incident?
" We do not believe that it is needed at this time, but will have to take a position on it when we know what was in the letter.
Dialogue with farmers
According to Johanna Hedén, work is continuously being done to ensure the safety of employees and there is also a dialogue with farmers to facilitate the work.
Is there a case that could be linked to the powder letter?
"It's not something I can comment on," says Johanna Hedén.
