The Environmental Committee in Malung-Sälen decided a few weeks ago to demand changes to the permit to build the large wind farm on Fageråsen through an appeal.
The company intends to make more interventions in nature than was planned. The decision has raised great concern in the municipal leadership, there are fears of delays in the project and on Tuesday the board decided to completely back down from the previous decision. The chairman of the board, Jörgen Lind (M), does not want to comment at all on the decision. The opposition protested.
- Strange that the decision is revoked after only three weeks. We have not received any explanation other than that this is a sensitive topic, says Tomas Isaksson (LPo).
No responsibility for supervision
At the same time, the board decided that Malung-Sälen municipality in the future should not be at all responsible for reviewing future wind power construction, as envisaged in Ripfjället.
In other words, it renounces the possibility of overseeing wind power issues and leaves it to the county administrative board to take care of this.
