Tilda Svensson and Zeke Westerlund were one of six teams that made it to the final in the kitchen category in this year's edition of the Swedish High School Championship. There they performed so well that the judges placed them at the top of the podium.
"It's great to get a stamp that you know something," says Zeke Westerlund.
"Got a lot of praise"
The high school students started with a theory test and then composed and cooked a three-course menu, which was then judged by a taste jury. And throughout the cooking, method judges were present in the kitchen. Where one thing stood out in team Svensson/Westerlund.
- Collaboration is everything, if it doesn't work, nothing works. That's a lot of what I think we won on, that we worked well together," says Tilda Svensson.
New adventures await
They are now in the last semester before graduation and know what awaits them after high school – the military. Fittingly, Tilda Svensson will be a chef in the navy.
"It may not have really been my first choice, but I'm looking forward to it now. I think it will be a cool experience," she said.
