Under the terms of this new contract for the France "negotiated by mutual agreement", without the need for a call for tenders, France TV recovers the exclusive broadcasting rights of the matches of the Simonne-Mathieu court (the third largest court of the complex), previously held by Prime Video which, for its part, will broadcast exclusively the 11 matches scheduled at night on the Philippe-Chatrier court, Moretton detailed.

"We have finalized our 2024-2027 agreements on Roland-Garros, an important asset of the Federation (...). Our first desire as a Federation was that as many people as possible could see Roland-Garros. We are satisfied with the result because we have arrived at a perfect combination between, we take the same, France Television of course, the public service, and Prime Video, "commented the president of the FFT.

The two broadcasters already shared the rights in France for the period 2021-2023.

The exclusive broadcast on Prime Video of the matches of the Simonne-Mathieu court and the night sessions, according to the agreement currently in force, had created the discontent of some viewers deprived of several major posters and in particular the 2022 quarter-final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, for which the FFT had managed to obtain the free broadcast on the Amazon platform.

Amazon did not communicate on its overall audiences at Roland Garros last year, only hailing the fact that more than three million people watched the famous Nadal-Djokovic quarterback broadcast for free.

For its part, France Télévisions had gathered an average of 1.9 million viewers in the afternoon and 4.6 million on average during the final won by Nadal, who had beaten Casper Ruud and thus won for the 14th time the Major on clay, bringing to 22 his record of Grand Slam titles.
