According to the Minister of the Interior, between 16,000 and 20,000 people from ultra-left collectives have planned to gather this Thursday evening from 19 pm in front of several prefectures. In total, 80 actions are expected, according to the Territorial Intelligence Service. And according to information from Europe 1, several cities are considered particularly at risk.

Gérald Darmanin invites prefects to ban risky demonstrations

Between 2,500 and 3,000 people are expected in Nantes, up to 2,000 activists in front of the prefecture of Rennes, and several hundred black blocs in Caen... Also mentioned are the cities of Lyon and Grenoble. In his note, the Minister of the Interior also fears that wild processions will form in front of institutions.

Gérald Darmanin already invites the prefects to prohibit any demonstration in case of too high risk, or even to ask "the dissolution of certain small groups with insurrectional aims", he continues. "You will mobilize as such the appropriate police and gendarmerie services," concludes the Minister of the Interior in this note. A new mobilization of police personnel, already very solicited by nearly three months of protest.
