Talavera de la Reina will host the Data Campus of Meta, the largest technology multinational in the world, parent company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. This Friday will be published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha the declaration of Project of Singular Interest of this initiative. The president of the Community, Emiliano García-Page, manages in this way to attract for his region an investment that exceeds one billion euros and that will have a direct labor impact of 800 jobs.

The purpose of the project is the development of a Data Center that will be installed on a plot of 191 hectares of industrial land in Torrehierro (Talavera de la Reina). The Center will house Meta's operations and information technology team, used for digital production, processing and data storage that will be serviced through the company's applications.

The project, which represents a transcendent expansion of the presence of Meta in Europe, obtained the declaration of Regional Interest by agreement of the Governing Council of the Castilian Junta de La Mancha last June.

The total estimated investment is 1,010 million euros, of which 911 will be destined to the construction of the complex that will make up the Campus. The work as a whole will be developed within a maximum period of ten years.

The Data Center will consist of a set of permanent buildings with a total buildable area of 130,000 square meters. The two largest will house computer services, content production equipment and digital services and data storage, and will be complemented by others for offices, security, administrative, logistical and maintenance support.
