In response to global changes, China once again emphasizes "common destiny"

Boao, March 3 (ZXS) -- Geopolitical conflicts, the downturn of the world economy, global warming... The uncertainties facing the development of human society are increasing. Chinese Premier Li Qiang called on all parties in Boao on the 30th to hold high the banner of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, work together to build a community with a shared future in Asia, and inject more certainty into world peace and development.

At the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023 on the 30th, Li Qiang delivered a keynote speech entitled "Injecting More Certainty into World Peace and Development with the Concept of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind". The outside world believes that in response to global changes, China once again emphasizes "common destiny", pointing out the right direction for countries to cooperate to cope with common challenges.

As the eternal theme of human society, development is the key to solving various problems and realizing people's happiness. Ten years ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and proposed China's plan to eliminate the global development deficit. Since then, this concept has been written into important documents of multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization many times, and its influence and appeal have become increasingly prominent.

Today, compared with 10 years ago, global development problems are on the rise. The new crown epidemic has swallowed up the global development achievements for many years, the global economic recovery is fragile and weak, some countries have politicized and marginalized development issues, artificially created division and confrontation, resulting in huge difficulties in global development, and the international and regional development environment has become more complex and changeable, and uncertainty, instability and unpredictability have become the norm.

Challenges are about the present, but also about the future. In the midst of chaos, people desperately want more and more powerful certainties to move the world towards a better future. When Asia and the world are at the crossroads of historical evolution, where does the certainty for lasting peace and shared prosperity come from?

In the face of more than 50,1500 political, business and think tank scholars from more than <> countries and regions on five continents, Li Qiang emphasized that more certainty should be injected into global development from four aspects: jointly safeguarding a peaceful and stable development environment, jointly building a more dynamic growth center, jointly expanding effective ways of solidarity and cooperation, and jointly promoting people-to-people exchanges in depth.

"We have strengthened our confidence in the future." Shen Wen, president and chairman of the National Federation of Australia-China Chamber of Commerce, told China News Agency that the pursuit of common development is the meaning of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and these four specific directions further clarify the realistic path to achieve common development in the current context, which is of constructive significance for the stability and long-term development of global governance.

As an important starting point for promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, the "Belt and Road" initiative proposed by China has made a useful attempt to stimulate the momentum of global cooperation and has become an important global public good in the past 10 years. China's top officials believe that it is necessary to build an open world economy, jointly build the "Belt and Road" with high quality, and promote global trade and investment liberalization and facilitation.

Li Guixiong, vice chairman of the Thai Chinese Entrepreneur Association, believes that the achievements of the "Belt and Road" initiative have benefited Southeast Asian countries. "Facing the challenging next 10 years, regional countries can gain more development opportunities from high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, and align with international economic, trade and investment rules to a greater extent."

Li Qiang pointed out in his speech that in an uncertain world, China's certainty is the mainstay of maintaining world peace and development. "This is true in the past, and even more so in the future and in the present."

In the past 10 years, China's economy has always maintained steady development and has become the "ballast stone" and "power source" of the world economy. Chinese officials pointed out that in the future, while maintaining a certain growth rate, China's economy will accelerate the change of quality, efficiency and power, and strive to achieve higher quality development. All these will provide new momentum for world economic growth and provide broad space for the development of enterprises from all over the world in China.

"In the decades since we have been rooted in the Chinese market, we have witnessed the rapid development of China's economy and deeply feel the increasing attractiveness of the Chinese market." Liu Guoping, Chairman of ORIX Group Greater China, believes that in response to global changes, we must not artificially "build walls" and force "decoupling and breaking chains", and China's economy is a powerful propeller and stable anchor for the recovery and development of the world economy, which will bring more development opportunities for foreign-funded enterprises.

Participants believed that the theme of this year's annual meeting is "An Uncertain World: Unity and Cooperation to Meet Challenges, Openness and Inclusiveness for Development", reflecting the common aspirations of the international community for peace, cooperation and development. In the face of an uncertain world, China once again emphasizes the development logic of "common destiny" and will continue to build a development platform for win-win cooperation for Asia and the world.
