This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to Hungary Evgeny Stanislavov in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"Budapest demonstrates a pragmatic position, which it is not yet going to abandon even under the pressure of its allies in the EU and NATO," Stanislavov said.

According to him, the basis of Hungary's policy is the desire to protect its interests.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that he had agreed with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak to continue uninterrupted supplies of Russian oil and gas.

Hungarian President Katalin Novak noted that Russia is not the main trading partner for Hungary, but its economy is one of the most defining in the world.
