After the encounter with the wolf, he warned the staff at the school to keep the children inside. They asked if it was dog he had seen.

"No, it's not a dog. But it was so close that I could almost pat it," says Bozze Karlsson.

Arboga municipality took several measures and schools and preschools kept the children indoors until lunchtime. The wolf disappeared from Arboga and migrated further to the northeast, according to Daniel Mallwitz, wildlife officer at the county board.

May have ended up wrong

The County Administrative Board took a DNA sample in the forest and will analyze the sample.

"We suspect it's a wolf that's never been to this area, because if it had known what the landscape looks like, it would never have ended up there," Mallwitz says.

Bozze Karlsson had never seen a wolf at such close range in the wild.

"I don't think the wolf was fully grown. It was so messy and, it's probably run a lot," Bozze said.
