The doors of the Louvre Museum have been blocked since Monday morning by museum employees, opposed to the pension reform. A mobilization "at the initiative of the inter-union of museum staff," said the CGT-Culture in a statement. Last Thursday, the entrance to the museum had already been blocked for an hour by protesters.

The doors of the Louvre will remain closed on Monday. Since the beginning of the morning, the most visited museum in the world has been inaccessible and its entrance has been blocked by employees of the cultural establishment opposed to the pension reform. This Monday morning, the CGT-Culture and SUD Culture Solidaires published a joint press release, indicating that "the Louvre Museum has been closed since 9 am this morning at the initiative of the inter-union of museum staff," they specify.

A mobilization "to demand the withdrawal of the pension reform"

"The CGT-Culture, the CGT Spectacle, the Federal Union of State Trade Unions – CGT, the CGT Livre and the CGT Departmental Union of Paris are participating in this action with the striking Louvre staff. This initiative is part of the continuation of the mobilization of the inter-union Culture to demand the withdrawal of the pension reform," they added in their statement.

For its part, the establishment indicated on its website and Twitter account that "due to an interprofessional social movement, the Louvre Museum is not able to be open in the early morning".

This is not the first time that the museum has been affected by mobilizations against the pension reform. Last Thursday, the opening of the museum had already been delayed by an hour by strikers.
