According to information gathered by Europe 1, the seriously injured protester who is still in a coma on Monday has been known for several years by the intelligence services to belong to the movement of the radical and violent ultra-left. Implicated in the attack on the premises of the judicial protection of young people in 2011 in the South-East, he had been placed in pre-trial detention for two months.

His prognosis is still engaged on Monday. The thirty-year-old protester plunged into a coma after being seriously injured during the clashes between demonstrators and police this weekend in Sainte-Solines, has been known to the intelligence services since at least 2009. According to information gathered by Europe 1, he was registered "S" in the mid-2010s, when Bernard Cazeneuve was Minister of the Interior, for his membership of the radical and violent ultra-left movement.

This man, victim of a head trauma, was hit by a projectile whose origin and nature are not yet known. An investigation has been opened "to determine the exact nature" of the serious injuries of three protesters in total and "the circumstances in which" these people were injured, announced Sunday the prosecutor's office of Niort in a press release.

Two months pre-trial detention

According to a source close to the case, the demonstrator, born in 1990, has previously participated several times in ultra-left demonstrations, sometimes by integrating the black block. His presence was reported by the services during the G7 in Biarritz in the summer of 2019. He is also known to the services for having taken part in the protest against the airport of Notre-Dame-des-Landes. He held leadership positions in Toulouse within the revolutionary communist local.

In 2011, he was implicated in the investigation into the deterioration of the premises of the judicial protection of youth (PJJ) of Labège.
