At the check, the couple stated that the destination was a wedding in Stockholm. At the same time, the woman had no packing with her, and this caused customs to take suspicion.

"During the search, customs inspectors found a total of six weapons that the woman had hidden in her underwear. Two pistols were found in her bra and four pistols were tucked into her panties, Kristian Johansson said in a press release.

Behind the dashboard

In addition to the woman's underwear, there was a weapons cache behind the instrument panel.

– It feels incredibly good that we have managed to stop these 15 weapons from entering the country and ending up in the hands of criminal gangs, says Kristian Johansson.

Faces 4-7 years in prison

The couple was charged on Monday at Malmö District Court with particularly serious weapons smuggling. If convicted, they could be sentenced to a minimum of four and a maximum of seven years in prison.

The prosecutor is asking that after serving their sentence, they be deported and banned from returning under the age of 15.

The man has said in questioning with the customs criminal that he picked up the weapons in Germany and that they would be delivered to a recipient in Stockholm.

The woman says she knows nothing about where the weapons were going. She says her partner forced her to hide them under her clothes.
