The National Police has arrested 16 people, two of them slightly injured, accused of participating in a massive brawl that occurred early this Sunday morning, inside a train of line 10 of the Madrid Metro, at Batán station.

The fight, which in principle is not investigated as a confrontation between youth gangs, began at 06:45 hours when the train, in which many people were traveling outside the brawl, was going to stop at the aforementioned station, according to police sources.

According to the images recorded by several witnesses, young people of different ages and nationalities, including four minors, have begun to attack each other inside the wagons, even using their belts and at least one knife, which has been intervened.

When stopping in Batán, the fight has also moved to one of the platforms, which has caused several of the participants to cut train traffic by fleeing to the tracks, where they have been intercepted by the Police. After the intervention of the Protection and Reaction Unit (UPR), the agents have managed to end the confrontation.

Two young men have been slightly injured. The first, with a knife in the back, has been transferred by the health services to the hospital in La Paz, while the second, with multiple bruises, has been discharged on the spot.
