There is a view that the Russian army invading Ukraine is shifting from a large-scale offensive to a more defensive posture as its offensive momentum has slowed in the fiercely fought eastern area of Bakhmut, which it has been trying to seize.

Regarding the situation in Bakhmut, a fierce battle zone in eastern Ukraine, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zalzhny revealed on SNS on the 24th that he held a telephone talk with Chief of Staff Radakin, the head of the British army.

Among them, he said that the war situation in Bakhmut was the most severe in Ukraine, but evaluated that "the situation has stabilized due to the efforts of the Ukrainian army."

The British Ministry of Defence, which analyzes the war situation, said on the 25th that "the momentum of the Russian army in Bakhmut has largely stalled, which is the result of extreme wear and tear of the Russian army, and the situation may have worsened due to the tense relationship between the Ministry of Defence and the private military company Wagener."

On top of that, he pointed out the possibility that the Russian army will shift its emphasis of forces to Avdiivka south of Bakhmut and Kreminna in eastern Luhansk Province, north of Bakhmut, and analyzed that the Russian side has been trying to shift from a large-scale offensive to a more defensive posture since January without achieving decisive results.

The American think tank "Institute of War Studies" also pointed out on the 1th that "there seems to be great anxiety in the Russian speech space that the operation of the Russian military has stalled and that Ukraine may regain the initiative."

On top of that, it is necessary to invest a considerable number of troops in order to rebuild the war situation, but it does not seem that there are enough troops left for the Russian army.
