The United Nations on Friday accused Ukrainian and Russian forces of carrying out dozens of summary executions of prisoners of war since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"We are deeply concerned about the summary execution of 25 Russian prisoners of war," as well as that of "15 Ukrainian prisoners of war," said Matilda Bogner, head of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

The UN is aware of five Kiev investigations into 22 victims, but "we are not aware that the perpetrators have been brought to justice," the UN official said.

The 15 documented executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war were also carried out "shortly after their capture" and eleven were perpetrated by the Russian paramilitary militia Wagner, he added.

Biden says China "did not deliver" weapons to Russia for now

U.S. President Joe Biden said Friday he believes China has not sent weapons to Russia following the invasion of Ukraine.

"I don't take China lightly. I don't take Russia lightly," Biden said during a visit to Canada. "I have heard over the past three months (that) China would provide significant weapons to Russia. (...) They have not done so so far. It doesn't mean they won't, but they haven't done it yet," he said.

Biden, Trudeau say they won't fail Ukraine

U.S. President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday celebrated the close and "inseparable" relationship between the United States and Canada, saying their nations remain committed to defending Ukraine as it tries to repel the Russian invasion.

Biden and Trudeau met days after Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held talks for the first time since the war began. Putin and Xi agreed to deepen economic ties between the two countries. But Biden argued that the West's resolve remains stronger and warned Russia that the United States, Canada and their allies will defend "every inch of NATO territory."
