"A new fire weapon has appeared - a sniper rifle, most likely, they have more than one point, they shoot from different points, the rifle is large-caliber," the commander said.

He added that over the past week, the situation around the station has changed and, possibly, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have pulled up "fresh forces or some new units."

On March 14, the head of the Novokakhovsky urban district, Vladimir Leontiev, said that the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region is under reliable protection and attempts by Ukrainian troops to take it under control will be stopped.

On March 17, the head of the press center of the Dnipro group of troops, Roman Kodryan, reported that the artillerymen of the Southern Military District destroyed the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group, which attempted to cross the Dnieper River in the area of the Kakhovka reservoir.
