According to Hollande, "the time given to Ukraine by the Minsk agreements allowed it to build up its military power."

The politician noted that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline had to be stopped at the construction stage.

He added that Western companies should have left Russia much earlier.

Earlier, the Kremlin has already noted that former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, ex-Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and former French President Francois Hollande confirmed that for their countries the Minsk agreements were a screen for preparing for a power scenario in the Donbass.

They stressed that the decision to launch a special military operation was correct.

At the same time, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, said that the West in the situation with the Minsk agreements kept "stone by the sinus" and was preparing for an armed confrontation with Russia.
