For the two races the finish line will be installed in the Paseo de Recoletos and the start will be located in the Paseo de la Castellana, at the height of Zurbarán and Marqués de Villamagna.

The impact that the test will have in the city is very high in economic terms, since in addition to the 17% of registered foreigners, of 90 different nationalities, almost 30% of the total come that weekend from outside the Community of Madrid to run in the capital.

Female participation reached 23% of the total number of enrollees, compared to 18% the previous year. This edition will also be the most inclusive in its history, with about 70 runners with some type of functional, physical or intellectual diversity.

The test will be held in slightly high temperature conditions (17 degrees at 11.00), according to the organizers yesterday. Athletes have Saturday to remove the bib chip at the runner's fair in Casa de Campo.

Presentation of the Movistar Half Marathon

At the start there will be representation of athletes from 89 countries, which is the most international event in its history, with elite riders such as the Spaniards Yago Rojo and Clara Simal, the Kenyan Hillary Kipkoech and the Ethiopian Tadese Takele.

In the women's category, the presence of the Spanish Clara Simal stands out, who arrives in Madrid after doing a brilliant marathon in Seville (2h30) and aspires to be the main rival of the African athletes. Three of the favorites already know what it is to run and achieve their personal bests in this same test: the Kenyan Sharon Kemboi, second in 2022 with 1h07:28, and the Ethiopians Alemitu Tariku Olana and Ayinadis Teshome Birle, second and third, respectively, in the 2021 edition.

In search of victory, the African athletes will try to attack the current records of the course in the men's category, which is held by Ronald Kiprotich with 59:38 in 2021.

The Segovian Javi Guerra (1h01:21) comes from running the second best 10-kilometer race of his long career and hopes to endorse that good moment of form in Madrid. The presence of Yago Rojo is one of the most anticipated returns of the race. The Madrid long-distance runner continues to train and improve after overcoming an injury that has kept him in the dry dock for a long time and will seek on the asphalt of his city to rediscover the best possible sensations to return strongly to the national elite.

The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon has the silver seal of World Athletics and has been named by the Madrid City Council "event of general interest for the city", since it is one of the most emblematic and most traditional events in the country. The test will be broadcast by the channel Vamos de Movistar.
