The head of the Court of Instruction number 8 of Alicante, acting as a guard, has decreed the entry into provisional detention, communicated and without bail of the 22-year-old arrested for, allegedly, sexually assaulting a minor of 14 years in the toilets of a supermarket in a central neighborhood of Alicante last Tuesday.

The magistrate has adopted this decision in accordance with the criteria of the Public Prosecutor's Office, understanding that there is a risk of flight due to the lack of roots of the investigated, who was arrested with another young man at the train station. In addition, the crime for which he is investigated carries high penalties and, given that according to the investigation, the first aggression was followed by another in the surroundings of the Castle, there may be criminal repetition.

The case is open for the crime of sexual assault on children under 16 years of age and the investigation will continue in the Court of Instruction 5 of Alicante, which was on duty the day the events happened.

In her police statement, the minor said that she was assaulted in the toilets of a supermarket and that later, in the company of another young man who was released, the detainee threatened her with a knife and moved her to the surroundings of the Castle, where she was raped again. At no time did he give his consent, something that the alleged aggressor does defend, who maintains that they met a few hours before and that they went to the establishment together to buy condoms.

The girl went alone later to a hospital where she was examined and the facts were denounced, which ended with the arrest of the two young men, although one was released hours later.
