Tillberga Grannskapsservice has run Parkgården's elderly care home between 1993 and 2021 on behalf of the City of Västerås. But in 2021, the association was refused a permit application to run the business, as the application was not received on time. Tillberga Grannskapsservice was reported to the police and the City of Västerås terminated the agreement with the economic association and took over the operation of Parkgården.

New rejection

Last year, the association signed a new agreement with the City of Västerås to run the nursing home between 2023-2030. But the IVO considered that the competence of the then board was insufficient and rejected the association's application to run Parkgården again.

– Then we expanded the board with two board members who have extensive experience in health and social care, says Hannes Lyckman, CEO of Tillberga Grannskapsservice.

According to Hannes Lyckman, the idea is to transfer the current staff to maintain the quality of care.

"We hope that all 17 employees will join us," he says.

The association can now take over

Following Friday's announcement, the process of taking over the nursing home is now resumed. Next week, the association will have a meeting with the City of Västerås about when they can start running the business.

"I'd like it to happen as soon as possible, but it should be sorted out. I don't want to rush this process," says Hannes Lyckman.
