For the power outages that occurred in January, EON will distribute SEK 2 million, mainly to the customers in Strömsund municipality who were affected, but also those in Västernorrland and Västerbotten who were affected.

The compensation is currently SEK 1,000 and is automatically distributed to those customers who have had power outages for twelve hours or more. If you are without electricity for more than 24 hours, the compensation is approximately SEK 2,000.

Strömsund was most affected

Lena Berglund, head of region North at EON, cannot answer how much of the two million kronor will go to customers in Strömsund municipality, but she believes that it can move up to about three quarters of the sum.

"It was mainly in Strömsund that the interruptions were so long and I think some of them have already received their compensation, but I can't promise anything," says Lena Berglund.

The company will continue to work forward during the summer and autumn with the hope of reducing the risk of future disruptions.
