Member of Parliament from the Stockholm area blackmailed with sex image

The member of parliament, who is in his 60s, met the woman at a pub in central Stockholm where he usually goes to drink beer with some friends. The accused woman is also a regular at the pub and, according to the preliminary investigation, the member of parliament claims that the woman began to show interest in him in the summer of 2022.

Had sex in the man's apartment

The suspected woman and member of parliament had contact during the autumn and in December the man invited the woman and another friend to his apartment where he offered wine. According to the preliminary investigation, the member of parliament and the two women had sex and the suspected woman took a picture of the man performing oral sex on the friend. That image was then allegedly used to extort the man for money. The woman has, among other things, wanted to get money for a breast augmentation, new television and travel. If the member of parliament did not pay, the woman would leak the image to the media and ruin his career.

Paid rent

When questioned by police, the man says he paid a taxi for the two women after he had sex with them. He also gave the accused woman SEK 5,000 as "help for the rent". The 27-year-old woman claims in questioning with the police that it was a sex purchase and that she and the 60-year-old man had a financial settlement, something that the man denies.

Now the man himself is also suspected of a crime, something that Dagens Nyheter was the first to tell. A preliminary investigation has been initiated into suspected purchase of sexual services.

"There is pre-trial secrecy and I can't comment on anything," Maria Sterup, who is chief prosecutor at the Special Prosecutor's Office, told SVT Stockholm.

A private person with whom SVT has been in contact has also made a report of a violation of the Sex Purchase Act.

– We should be equal before the law and this is an obvious violation of the sex purchase law that needs to be investigated, the reporter tells SVT.

SVT has sought the member of parliament and the suspected woman for comment.
