It was just before 14pm on Wednesday that the fire started and was extinguished by emergency services on Wednesday night. No one was injured.
The fire caused damage to one of the three fragmentation units and a filter unit – both will be repaired. The fire was stopped within the plant's fragmentation area.
Renewcell's initial assessment is that the remediation and repair work is expected to be completed within about two weeks and some limited production will be possible during the period.
In connection with the fire, Renewcell's share fell sharply, but after the announcement that the factory will be operational within two weeks, the share bounced up 14 percent.
The company refers to the press release and otherwise does not wish to comment.
