"Vapes should be banned, because, first of all, they harm the health of children," explained Fyodor Tumusov.

In turn, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Svetlana Bessarab, stressed that, as practice shows, vapes are even "more harmful and dangerous to the body than ordinary cigarettes."

"It is particularly worrying that the use of vapes is common among young people," the parliamentarian said.

In her opinion, the ban on vapes is a step in the preservation of public health.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin promised that the Cabinet of Ministers would consider the issue of banning vapes and form a position.

On January 18, it became known that the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin instructed the relevant committees to make proposals on the issue of a possible ban on vapes.

He said that the situation was instructed to study the State Duma committees on health protection, education and youth affairs.

The Ministry of Finance of Russia said that the ban on vapes and liquids can lead to losses for the budget and illegal circulation of relevant products.
