Nablus – The death of 25-year-old Palestinian resistance fighter Amir Abu Khadija struck the city of Tulkarm in particular and the West Bank in general, after the Israeli occupation forces targeted him inside a house in a village south of Tulkarm.

In a brief statement – Al Jazeera Net arrived – the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the martyr Abu Khadija, one of the most prominent leaders and founders of the "Tulkarm Brigade - Rapid Response Group" arrived at the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital with a bullet wound to the head, which led to a complete laceration of the skull and the exit of the brain from it, which indicates that the martyr was targeted directly and at close range.

Just before eight o'clock on Thursday morning, Israeli special units surrounded a building in the village of Izbet Shufa, south of Tulkarm, to be supported shortly after by large forces of the Israeli occupation army and stormed a residential apartment inside the building, and assassinated Abu Khadija inside.

In the details, says Azmi Saleh, head of the village council of the island net that the martyr was wanted for the occupation, has been surrounded by an Israeli force inside the house of a friend of his in the town, and began to throw explosive bombs towards the house, and then fired directly towards the Palestinian resistance "in a direct execution as it appears."

Large quantities of bullets made holes in the walls of the house, which is contrary to the claim of the occupation army that the wanted Abu Khadija opened fire at his soldiers, and that an armed clash took place with him and led to his death.

Saleh added that the army wounded the owner of the house, Wael Saleh, in the head and shoulder, and took him to detention, and that stains of blood appeared at the entrance to the house confirming that the soldiers "dragged the injured man to the ground while he was bleeding", noting that the soldiers destroyed the targeted house and caused great damage to its furniture and contents.

The first martyrs of Ramadan

Abu Khadija is one of the most prominent founders of the Tulkarm-Rapid Response Group, who read its first statement at the first press conference held by the battalion announcing its launch in Gamal Abdel Nasser Square in the center of Tulkarm on February 22.

He is the first martyr in Ramadan and the 90th of the total number of martyrs assassinated by Israel since the beginning of this year in the West Bank.

The battalion's statement at the time said, "We appeared today to bleed to you the news of the establishment of the Rapid Response Group," like the resistance battalions in Nablus, Jenin and others, and the battalion warned the occupation against any incursion into Tulkarm and announced its response to it.

The martyr Amir Imad Abu Khadija was born in the city of Tulkarem, and studied in its primary and secondary schools, and completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Sports at Palestine Technical University (Kadoorie University) in the same city.

Amir is mediated by his six siblings (3 males and 3 females) who excelled in their schools and universities, and their family is described as educated and persistent, as his father is a public servant with the rank of director in the Ministry of Social Development, and his mother is a retired teacher.

After completing his university education, Amir joined the Palestinian Authority's security apparatus known as the Presidential Guard, before resigning and leaving for the freelance market as a private transport vehicle driver and working in a construction stone workshop.

About 3 years ago, Amir, who is described for his religious commitment, good morals and bold and serious personality, was arrested by the Israeli occupation for about a year, becoming several months ago the most wanted by the occupation in the city, especially after he joined the ranks of the resistance in it.

Despite its recent appearance, the resistance of the Tulkarm Brigade preceded its reputation, especially since it adopted through its statements more than one act of resistance against the military occupation points surrounding the city.

Sami al-Saei, a journalist and activist in following up on Tulkarm affairs, said that the emergence of the "Tulkarm Brigade", which many saw as very simple and does not reflect an organized and strong group, reflected by a great action of the battalion, and that they in the city have heard about the work of the battalion and its resistance without seeing any parade of its members since its inception, and that this is a positive thing and is credited to the battalion.

He added the courier of the island net that the strength of the battalion came today to assassinate "one of its leaders and reader of its first statement," which indicates that it is working sincerely and sophisticated and that it "really hurt the occupation."
