Beijing, 3 Mar (ZXS) -- On 23 March, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission intensively reported that a number of leading cadres of central enterprises had been investigated, which aroused widespread concern.

Most of the leading cadres of the fallen central enterprises are involved in the energy field, including Xia Zhong, former member of the party group and deputy general manager of the State Power Investment Corporation, and deputy secretary of the party committee and vice chairman of the China Electricity Council. There are also 5 leaders of central enterprises who were named centrally, from the national energy group Kehuan Group Guoneng Langxinming Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., China Datang Electric Fuel Co., Ltd., State Grid and so on.

The analysis believes that a number of leading cadres from the energy field have been investigated, indicating that the anti-corruption work in the energy field continues to increase.

The State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection also announced on the same day that Wang Guizhi, former member of the party committee and chairman of the board of supervisors of China Guangfa Bank, was subject to disciplinary review and supervision and investigation. According to public information, Wang Guizhi has worked in the financial system for nearly 40 years, and his investigation has also become the epitome of the unabated anti-corruption efforts in the financial sector.

According to incomplete statistics, since the beginning of this year, more than 30 people in the financial field have fallen one after another, including many "top leaders" such as party secretaries and presidents.

Chinese officials are continuing to deepen their efforts to crack down on corruption in sectors such as finance, state-owned enterprises, and political and legal sectors where power is concentrated, capital-intensive, resource-rich, and grain purchases and sales.

"State-owned assets and resources are hard-won and are the common wealth of the people of the whole country, and must not become 'Tang monk meat' that can be slaughtered by others." Gong Tanghua, head of the discipline inspection and supervision team of the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection stationed in the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, recently wrote that it is necessary to adhere to the strict keynote, strict measures, and strict atmosphere for a long time, promote the "three non-corruption" as a whole, resolutely cut off the "black hands" that extend to state-owned assets, safeguard the safety of state-owned assets, and promote the preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets.

It is worth noting that Wang Guizhi retired in 2020. Earlier, less than a week after the conclusion of the National People's Congress and the National People's Congress, the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection successively released the news that three central management cadres had been investigated, including Zheng Hong, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress and former deputy secretary of the party group, who is about to turn 3. Some observers said that these examples once again show that there is no forbidden area for "fighting tigers", and retirement is not the same as entering the "safe".

March 3 this year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the State Supervision Commission. The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission published an article on this, clearly stating that "adhere to no forbidden areas, full coverage, zero tolerance, adhere to heavy containment, strong pressure, and long-term deterrence" and "form a high-pressure situation of concentrating forces to severely punish corruption", and require discipline inspection and supervision organs at all levels to "improve the ability and level of promoting not daring to be corrupt, not being corrupt, and not wanting to be corrupt as a whole".

The outside world believes that these statements show the determination to not slacken the anti-corruption work and start again. The official intensive notification of the investigation of many leading cadres of central enterprises also sent a signal that the anti-corruption campaign will not stop. (End)
