The first decision was to build a makeshift ferry berth 100 meters north in the Commercial Harbor towards the county administrative board, but that is no longer the plan. By now using the ferry berth's reserve seat right next door, millions of kronor are saved.
- Here we "just" need to strengthen the quay, the bridge construction already exists. This is the best thing both for Aspö commuters and for taxpayers, says Ola Gren, port manager in Karlskrona municipality.
SEK 4.9 million is set aside for the repair of the reserve situation, compared to the 20 million that had been required in the northern Commercial Port.
Delayed plan
But – the reserve mode must also be renovated before the ferry traffic can be transferred there.
From believing that the first location could be completed by the summer, the hope is that the reserve mode can be completed after the holiday season. Only then can traffic be moved and the first position renovated.
"First, we will buy this up via the framework agreement that exists. The contractor who wins will be involved in picking out the design, so we'll see when we get started," explains Ola Gren.
