It was January 8 that the police were alerted that the son had not been handed over to the mother again after socializing with the father. In the residence, the boy was found deceased and the father is under arrest on suspicion of murder. One motive that is being investigated right now is a custody dispute that has been going on almost the entire boy's life. At the time of the boy's death, the father was entitled to visitation for two hours every other Saturday and Sunday despite alarms from the police, social services, school and relatives.

"It is a very tragic event that acutely alizes the need to strengthen children's needs in a legal process in various ways," says Gunnar Strömmer.

"An opportunity we are looking at"

Will there be a change in the law that allows children to have their own representation in a dispute?

"You can think of situations where it might be more appropriate to do it in a different way if you don't want to drag the child in and make it an active party in a conflict between the parents. I respect the fact that there are nuanced counter-arguments now we take care of the good arguments for and against and should prepare it carefully.

By tomorrow, Thursday, the disfigured father is to be charged or remanded in custody.

In the clip, you hear Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer about the demands for a change in the law.
