Representatives from 27 EU member states will meet at the Steam hotel in Västerås 27-28 March. This is to discuss growth and competitiveness. In connection with this, the police will strengthen their surveillance of the area around the hotel, including through camera surveillance with drones.

The city of Västerås has struggled to get summits to the city during the year when Sweden is president of the EU.

– We have been clear about the areas of strength that you have in Västerås, that we have a large business community with many multinational companies and work with energy issues and automation, says Charlotta Filling, strategist for international work at the City of Västerås.

Representatives of several large companies in Västerås and the chairman of Västerås City Council, Anders Teljebäck, will participate in mingling with EU officials.
