"It's not that much weirder to have a robot in the classroom than a student more than it's harder to connect one to one. But it actually works very well," says mathematics teacher Jenny Sigfridsson.

Can show facial expressions

If the student needs help, it can click a button so that the head of the robot flashes. The student can also show if they feel happy, thoughtful, sad or neutral by changing the robot's facial expression.

"Only one student at a time can use the robot. And it becomes tied to that person through a login code," says special needs teacher Annika Johansson.

"Since the person can also control the robot, it doesn't work if several people try to control it," adds Jenny Sigfridsson.

There are no requirements or criteria that students must meet in order to get help from Otto, but the student with the greatest need goes first.

Gossiping on their classmates

Has the student ever used the robot for mischief?

"Yes, he had kept a little track and said that now those students don't work there, now they're doing the wrong things," says mathematics teacher Jenny Sigfridsson, laughing.

But most of the time he takes care of himself?

"Yes, it has actually worked better than you thought," says special needs teacher Annika Johansson.
