When Jolf, a street dog from Ethiopia, came to Sweden, he was quite shy. His matron Nanna Helsén started a forum for dog owners and Jolf finally got playmates.

"But I realized that dogs, just like humans, are individuals who don't fit with everyone, but finding the right one was a huge joy for both him and me.

A greater need in sparsely populated areas

Just over a year ago, she decided to start a dating app for dog owners and the dogs. So far, around 20,000 have been registered, and they often remain even when a new partner has been found.

"Most of the dogs live in the cities, but the need is at least as great in sparsely populated areas," says Nanna Helsén.
