Virginie Girod SEASON 2022 - 202310h27, March 22, 2023

"Au Cœur de l'Histoire" makes you discover a woman with an extraordinary destiny: Eleanor of Aquitaine. Virginie Girod retraces her story in a new episode in two parts. Eleanor of Aquitaine is this duchess with two crowns of the kingdoms of France and England. She is undoubtedly the best-known female historical figure of the Middle Ages. She married successively two kings, Louis VII, then Henry Plantagenet, future Henry II. Eleanor of Aquitaine thus became the titular duchess of one of the largest and richest territories of the medieval West. In the Middle Ages, in the middle of the twelfth century, Aquitaine is the scene of a rivalry between the King of France and the King of England, at the origin of the future Hundred Years War. Eleanor of Aquitaine will find herself at the heart of this conflict. "Au Cœur de l'Histoire" is a Europe 1 Studio production.

Hear the story of Eleanor of Aquitaine, the Duchess with the Two Crowns. A woman of power and knowledge, Eleanor of Aquitaine reigned over France and England in the twelfth century. She is known to have played a prominent political role in the Middle Ages, but she is also the inspiration for poets who sing of courtly love. It is a game of seduction between the men and women of high society. It's elegant, gallant but it's not sexual. It's just for the pleasure of the soul, to be happy. "Au Cœur de l'Histoire" is a Europe 1 Studio production.
