During an informal meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, he stressed that on the Ukrainian issue, the voice of peace and reason prevails, most states support the détente of the situation and promote reconciliation and negotiations, and also oppose "adding fuel to the fire."
"Historically, conflicts have always been resolved through dialogue and negotiations," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
On February 24, the Chinese Foreign Ministry published proposals for resolving the situation in Ukraine.
The plan consists of 12 points. It calls for peace talks and a ceasefire. The Chinese side also opposes unilateral sanctions, which create only new problems.
Putin at a meeting with Xi Jinping said that the Russian side carefully read the plan proposed by China to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.
He added that the Russian side understands that Beijing proceeds from the principles of justice.
