Phang Nga, Thailand, March 3 (CNS) -- A large-scale tourism promotion event for the Asia-Pacific short-haul market, hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, was held in Phang Nga province in southern Thailand from March 21 to 3 to help Thailand's tourism industry recover.

The theme of this presentation is "2023 Magical Thailand Phang Nga Tour". More than 12 travel agency representatives from 140 countries and regions in Asia and the South Pacific, as well as representatives of Thai tourism enterprises, attended the event.

In his opening speech, Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports Pippa said that he hopes to express to global tourists the new departure of Thailand's tourism industry after the epidemic, and at the same time, hopes that everyone can get a high-quality tourism experience, so as to stimulate new inspiration and passion for Thai tourism. Tourism Authority Tanie said the Tourism Authority will help make Phang Nga part of a new destination in the Asian and South Pacific tourism markets, thereby boosting the local economy and increasing tourism revenue.

The four-day promotion meeting includes an experience tour and related business negotiations and transactions. The organizer invited the participants to inspect and experience the main tourist landmarks and routes in and around Phang Nga Province, and held B4B large-scale business promotion and negotiation activities.

It is understood that for the short-distance market, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has formulated five measures, including attracting Chinese tourists to return, responsible tourism, and developing emerging tourism cities. Through various promotional activities specifically targeting the short-haul market, the bureau expects short-haul tourism revenue to account for more than 5% of Thailand's annual tourism revenue in 2023.
