Taiwan's Presidential Office has announced that President Tsai Ing-wen will visit two Central American countries with which she has diplomatic relations from next week to early next month, and will also visit the United States before and after.

This was revealed by Presidential Office spokesman Hayashi Sozen at a press conference on the 21st.

President Tsai will depart Taiwan on the 29th of this month and stop in New York in the United States.

After that, he will hold a summit meeting with President Jamatei in Guatemala, Central America, and witness the handover of a hospital built with Taiwan's support.

He will also visit Belize, meet with Prime Minister Briseño, and address Parliament.

Then, via Los Angeles in the United States, he will return to Taiwan on the 7th of next month.

The Presidential Office has not announced schedules for New York and Los Angeles, but the Financial Times, a British business newspaper, reported that President Tsai agreed to meet with Speaker McCarthy in the United States during this trip.

On the other hand, Guatemala's neighbor Honduras also has diplomatic relations with Taiwan, but it is not included in the destination this visit.

Regarding this, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yu Dae-Lai explained, "We have not yet reached an agreement on Taiwan's assistance plan for Honduras, and it is inappropriate for the President to visit now."

Honduran President Castro revealed last week that he had instructed his foreign minister to begin negotiations to establish diplomatic relations with China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry: "We firmly oppose visiting the United States"

On the other hand, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a press conference on the 21st, "We firmly oppose any form of official visit between the United States and Taiwan and the Taiwanese authorities and the visit of the leaders of the Taiwanese authorities to the United States under any name or reason," and made a strict request to the United States.

He added, "The Taiwanese authorities' attempts to provoke Taiwanese authorities to seek independence by colluding with external forces will surely fail."
