China News Network, March 3 According to the WeChat public account of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong, in response to the so-called "21 Country Human Rights Report" issued by the US State Department, wantonly smearing the situation of human rights and the rule of law in Hong Kong, maliciously slandering the Hong Kong National Security Law and the new electoral system, slandering the SAR government for governing according to law, and nakedly interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs.

The spokesman said that the central government has always comprehensively, accurately and unswervingly implemented the principles of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people governing Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy, firmly safeguarded national sovereignty, security, development interests and Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, firmly supported the development of democracy with Hong Kong characteristics, and fully protected the extensive rights and freedoms enjoyed by Hong Kong citizens in accordance with the law. Facts have eloquently proved that with the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and the successful implementation of the new electoral system of the HKSAR, national security has been safeguarded, Hong Kong society has become more stable and united, the business environment has been optimized, the rule of law and justice have been upheld, and the rights and freedoms enjoyed by Hong Kong residents such as speech, press and association have been better protected in a safer environment. At present, with the full support of the central government and the joint efforts of all sectors of the SAR, the SAR Government is working hard, the economy is full of vitality, the citizens live and work in peace and contentment, and the people's minds are thinking of governance, and Hong Kong is steadily moving forward on the correct track of "one country, two systems"!

The spokesman pointed out that the so-called "human rights oppression" is nothing more than a conjecture and trumped-up crime of American prejudice. The standards of democracy and human rights imposed by the United States on other countries are nothing more than political tools for suppressing dissidents, clearing obstacles, exploiting others, enslaving the world and seeking hegemony. The United States often presents itself as a "defender of human rights", but the fact is that its country continues to fall into a vicious circle of democratic distortion, political incompetence and social discord, with problems such as money politics, identity politics and social fragmentation becoming more and more serious, and racial discrimination, the proliferation of guns, and the disparity between the rich and the poor intensifying. Ignoring its own bad deeds and accumulated evil deeds, the United States deliberately spreads political lies and ideological prejudices, fabricates and exaggerates false narratives of the "decline of human rights" in other countries, and asks where does the confidence of the United States to intervene in the name of human rights come from?!

With the acceleration of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong is integrating into the overall development of the country at an unprecedented speed, with bright prospects and unlimited scenery. A few noises and clamors cannot shake in the slightest the firm determination of the SAR to unite and seek development, the strong will of the Chinese Government and the HKSAR Government to safeguard national security, and still less shake the historical trend of "one country, two systems" and the bright future of Hong Kong's greater prosperity and stability. We urge the US side to immediately stop its posturing political performances, immediately stop slandering and smearing Hong Kong's human rights situation, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs under any pretext.
