Following the price increases for food, Minister of Finance Elisabeth Svantesson (M) has today had a meeting with the food giants ICA, Axfood and Coop. So far, no concrete information has been received on how food prices can be dampened. Instead, the food giants believe that it is, among other things, supplier costs that have caused food prices to rise.

"It's important to look at the big picture, this is a complex chain," says Coop's CEO Marie Nygren.

"We will do everything we can to take responsibility," she says.

Statistics Sweden's latest figure that food prices have risen by 22.1 percent in the past year prompted Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) to summon the three largest food giants Axfood Coop and ICA. Svantesson wants to have a discussion about how prices can be kept down and on Tuesday the parties met.
