A break in the everyday life of war and an opportunity to both show off your own culture and see another country. With the help of volunteers and organizers, a children's singing group from the Ukrainian city of Kryvyj Rih has been able to spend some nice weeks in Sweden while giving concerts.
The 8-year-old got to experience the northern lights
One of the young singers, 8-year-old Yaroslava Kochetkova, has become acquainted with a new phenomenon during her stay in Norrbotten.
"For the first time, I've seen the northern lights," she says after this weekend's performance at Piteå Havsbad.
Hailed with a standing ovation
The children are aged 5-15 years and at the performance they were met by an enthusiastic audience who fell into both song and dance.
