As of March of this year, the average salary of a Russian taxi driver is just over 58 thousand rubles.

At the same time, as experts found out, the highest earnings are for taxi drivers of the two capitals: in Moscow, their monthly earnings tend to the level of 95 thousand rubles per month, in St. Petersburg they overcame the bar of 80 thousand rubles.

It is noted that until 2019, the taxi market in Russia grew rapidly.

"In the pandemic year of 2020, restrictions were imposed to support the demand for taxi services and find additional sources of income, companies began to actively introduce delivery through taxis. This decision also contributed to a faster pace of recovery of the market after the pandemic, "experts said.

At the same time, in 2021, the growth rate of supply for taxi drivers slowed down.

"However, already in 2022, the volume of hiring taxi drivers showed a record jump in five years - + 259% compared to 2021. This is due to the high rotation of personnel, which is generally characteristic of the niche, and the fact that taxi companies have become much more likely to look for drivers on online platforms. The upward trend in supply for taxi drivers continues this year," the study says.

In January-February 2023, the number of vacancies increased ninefold compared to the same period in 2022, analysts said.

Earlier, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov said that the city government will provide car-sharing and taxi services with subsidies in the amount of 450 million rubles for the development of the industry.
