Justice ministers from several countries will meet in London on Monday to discuss ways to support the International Criminal Court (ICC) after it issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab said: "We meet today in London united on one issue: holding war criminals accountable for the atrocities committed in Ukraine during this unjust, unlawful and unprovoked invasion.

"The UK, along with the international community, will continue to provide the ICC with funding, personnel and expertise to ensure justice is done."

Britain and the Netherlands are co-organising the conference, and Britain's Justice Department said it expected several countries to pledge financial support to the International Criminal Court during the conference.

Britain has pledged 1 million pounds ($22.<> million) to the court this year, and the Ministry of Justice said the funding would go towards training investigators to investigate alleged war crimes as well as psychological and practical support for victims.

The ICC has accused Putin of committing the war crime of illegally deporting hundreds of children from Ukraine. Moscow rejects the accusation, calling the court's move unacceptable and saying it has no legal force in Russia, which is not a member of the court.
